Server Settings (server.cfg)
The CS2 Settings tab is a form for the most common cvars of cfg/server.cfg, the file CS2 reads when it starts and on every map change.
To open it, go to Hosting > Game Servers > your server and click the CS2 Settings tab. The page is titled Server settings (cfg/server.cfg).
Change settings
- Change one or more fields. Each field shows its label and the cvar name next to it.
- Click one of the two buttons at the top right (they are enabled once something changed):
- Save: writes the file. The message says βSaved. Effective on next map change.β
- Save + apply live: writes the file and also sends the changed cvars to the running server over RCON, so they apply now. The message says βSaved + applied live via RCON.β
Save works while the server is stopped. Save + apply live needs RCON turned on, see Before you start.
Only the cvars in this form are written. Other lines already in server.cfg stay as they are; edit them in the Files tab.

Changing the RCON password
The panel itself uses the RCON Password variable to talk to your server. When you change RCON password here, the panel also updates that variable, so it keeps access. The new password must follow the same rule: 1 to 30 letters, numbers, dashes or underscores.
Do not change rcon_password with an RCON command: the panel would not know the new password.
