Console

The Console tab shows what your game server prints, live, and lets you send commands to it as if you were typing in the server window. Open it from Hosting > Game Servers > your server > Console.

Connecting

The console connects on its own when you open the tab, unless the server is still pending or installing. The top right of the card shows:

  • A badge with the server state (for example running or offline).
  • Reconnecting… while the connection is being restored after a drop.
  • Disconnect to close the live connection, or Connect to open it again.

The output area also prints short notes in brackets such as [connected], [status: running] or [disconnected] so you can follow what happened.

ℹ

The server must be running

You can open the console while the server is offline, but the game only answers commands while it runs. Start it with the **Start** button in the header.

Send a command

  1. Click the field under the output (it reads “Type a command. Use ↑/↓ to recall history.”).
  2. Type the command without a leading slash, for example say Hello or list.
  3. Press Enter or click Send.

The command is echoed in the output with a > in front, followed by the server’s answer. The field and the Send button are disabled while the console is not connected.

Recent commands

The last 10 commands you sent are saved for this server and shown under Recent commands:

  • Click a command to put it back in the field, then edit it or press Enter.
  • In the field, press the Up and Down arrow keys to go through the same list. Escape clears the field.

Minecraft commands

On Minecraft servers a Minecraft commands section appears under the console. Click show to open a list of common commands grouped as Server, Players, Permissions, World and Creative. Clicking one fills the command field with it so you can complete the placeholders (such as the player name) and send it.

Who can use it

The owner always can. Subusers need the control.console permission; without it the console cannot connect for them. See Subusers.
