Network and Firewall
The Network tab gathers everything related to your VPS connectivity: its IP, its MAC, the firewall protecting it, and the rules deciding what traffic is allowed.
Network Configuration
The first card shows the basics of your VPS network identity.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| IP Address | Your public IPv4. Click to copy |
| MAC Address | The MAC of the virtual network card. Useful for IP requests or reverse DNS in some providers |
| Status | Whether the interface is currently up and active |
Associated Firewall
Every PlaySafe VPS has its own Edge Firewall, and this card links to it. Click Open firewall to go to the firewall page, where you manage its rules and protections and see its traffic. The same page is listed under Security > Firewalls in the sidebar.
Edge Firewall Rules
This card lists the rules of your VPSβs Edge Firewall in the order they are checked, from top to bottom. The first rule that matches a packet decides what happens to it. Traffic that no rule matches reaches your VPS.
There are no priority numbers to type. The order is the position of the rule in the list, and you change it on the firewall page by dragging a rule up or down (on phones, with the up and down arrows). Each rule has an on/off switch, so you can turn it off without deleting it.
Locked rules
Some rules show a padlock and cannot be changed from the rule list:
- Rules created by a protection show βFromβ and the protection name. Turn the protection off, or change its settings, on the Protections tab of the firewall page.
- Rules managed by PlaySafe staff. You cannot change or delete them.
Add or change rules
Click Open firewall and use the Rules tab. Add rule offers these types: Port, Country block, Country allow, IP block, IP allow, Payload match and TCP flags, plus presets such as Allow a FiveM server or SSH only from one IP. A firewall can have up to 50 rules, protections included.
Every change is applied to the server right away. The rule shows Applying until the server confirms it. If something fails, the panel shows the error and a Try again button, and the rules that were already running keep running.
Keep your own access first
Example: open a game port
To let players reach a FiveM server on port 30120, open the firewall page, click Add rule and pick the Allow a FiveM server preset. It fills in:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | Port |
| Action | Allow |
| Protocol | TCP and UDP |
| Port | 30120 |
You can change any field before saving.
