Files
The Files tab is a file manager for your serverβs folder. Open it from Hosting > Game Servers > your server > Files. Everything you change here is written straight to the server, so it is a good idea to stop the server before editing files the game uses while it runs, and to take a backup before big changes.
Moving around
- The path under the Files title shows where you are. Click root or any folder name in it to go back up.
- Click a folder in the list to open it.
- The list shows Name, Size, Modified and Mode for each entry, folders first.
- The refresh button (circular arrow) reloads the current folder.
Edit a file
- Click the file name. It opens in an editor window with syntax highlighting.
- Make your changes. An unsaved badge appears at the top.
- Click Save or press Cmd+S (Mac) or Ctrl+S (Windows, Linux).
- Click Close when you are done.
Files up to 10 MB can be saved from the editor. Most configuration changes only apply after a restart of the server.
Upload files
- Click Upload and pick one or more files, or
- Drag files from your computer onto the file list. The list shows βDrop files to upload to β¦β while you drag.
Files are uploaded into the folder you are viewing.
Create a folder
- Click New folder.
- Type a Name and click Create. The folder is created in the folder you are viewing.
Rename a file or folder
- Hover over the row and click the pencil at the right end.
- Type the new name and press Enter (or click the check). Escape cancels.
Compress and extract
- Compress: tick the boxes of the files and folders you want, then click Compress. An archive is created in the same folder.
- Extract: archives (
.zip,.tar,.tar.gz,.tgz,.gz) show an extract link next to their name. Click it to unpack the archive in the same folder.
Delete
- Tick the boxes of the files and folders to remove (the box in the header selects everything in the folder).
- Click Delete and confirm. This cannot be undone.
SFTP access
You can also reach the same files with an SFTP client (FileZilla, WinSCP and similar):
- Username:
<your account email>.<first 8 characters of the server ID>, for exampleyou@example.com.1a2b3c4d. - Password: your PlaySafe account password.
The panel does not show the SFTP host, port or server ID yet. Open a ticket from Tickets with the server name and we will send them to you. Accounts that only sign in with Discord have no password, so they cannot use SFTP. Subusers can log in over SFTP with their own email and password if they have the files.read permission.
Permissions for subusers
Each action needs its own permission: files.read to list folders, files.read-content to open files, files.create to upload and create folders, files.update to save and rename, files.delete to delete, and files.archive to compress and extract. See Subusers.
