Geo Filter

The Geo Filter tab lets you decide which countries can reach your server. You pick a mode and click countries; the panel creates the rules for you.

Open it from Security > Firewalls > your firewall > Geo Filter.

Choose a mode

Two cards at the top, under Select filtering mode:

  • Block Countries: the countries you add are blocked, everyone else can connect. Use it to shut out a few countries.
  • Allow Only: only the countries you add can connect, everyone else is blocked. Use it for region-locked servers.

The active mode shows an Active badge.

Switching mode removes the current countries

If you already have countries in one mode and click the other card, a dialog (**Switch geo filter mode?**) warns that all current geo rules will be deleted. Click **Switch mode** to confirm or **Cancel** to keep them.

Add countries

  1. Type in Search countryโ€ฆ to filter the grid.
  2. Click a country. It is added straight away and shows a check mark.
  3. Repeat for every country you need.

The countries in use appear above the grid under Blocked countries or Allowed countries, with the count. Click the X on a country to remove it.

Each country you add becomes one rule in the Rules tab and takes the next free number. Because a firewall holds up to 50 rules, long country lists use up that limit.

In Allow Only mode, the first country also adds a locked rule at the end of the list that blocks everything else. It is managed by PlaySafe and is kept after your country rules.

Examples

  • Block two countries: choose Block Countries, click both countries.
  • Only players from Spain and Portugal: choose Allow Only, click Spain and Portugal. Before you do, add your own IP in IP Lists > Whitelist (Allow) if you connect from elsewhere.

Check the order

Rules are applied by number, lowest first. If an address you allowed in **IP Lists** is still blocked, check in the **Rules** tab that its rule has a lower number than the geo rule.

Game protection

On a game protection the Geo Filter tab cannot be changed from the panel. To block or allow countries, open a ticket.
