Minecraft Server Overview

A Minecraft Java server gets extra tabs in the game panel on top of the ones every game has (Overview, Console, Files, Network, Variables, Subusers, Activity, Backups, Settings). They edit the real server files for you: server.properties, whitelist.json, ops.json, the ban lists and the plugins/ or mods/ folder.

To open them, go to Hosting > Game Servers > your server and pick a tab in the tab bar under the server header. The bar scrolls sideways when it does not fit.

The Settings tab of a Minecraft server also has a Server icon card. See Server Icon & Resource Pack.

Connected players card

On the Overview tab, a Minecraft server shows a Connected players card under Status and Resources. It asks the server who is online every 15 seconds (Server List Ping) and shows:

  • A badge with players online and the maximum, and a badge with the time the server took to answer, in milliseconds.
  • A tile per player with their head and name, and Op, WL (whitelisted) or Banned badges. Click a tile to open the same player sheet as in the Players tab.
  • A Refresh button.

When the server is stopped the card says β€œServer is not reachable. Start it to see who is online.”

Crash reports

When the server crashes, Minecraft writes a report into crash-reports/. The Crash reports tab lists them so you do not have to dig through files.

  1. Open Hosting > Game Servers > your server and click the Crash reports tab.
  2. The list on the left shows each report with its date, size and exception. The first one opens automatically.
  3. Click a report. The right side shows its time, Description, Exception and Caused by lines.
  4. Expand Full report to read the whole file.
  5. Click the trash icon on a report to delete it. There is no confirmation.

If the list is empty you see β€œNo crash reports. The server hasn’t crashed (yet).”

Bedrock players

Bedrock clients (phones, consoles, Windows edition) cannot join a plain Java server. Pick the Purpur + GeyserMC server type when you deploy: it comes with GeyserMC and Floodgate installed so Bedrock players can join the same world. See Server Types.
