Players & Inventories
The Players tab lists every player your Minecraft Java server knows about and lets you moderate them with buttons instead of console commands. It also opens a sheet with each player’s saved data: state, inventory, stats and advancements.
To open it, go to Hosting > Game Servers > your server and click the Players tab. It is not shown on Velocity and Waterfall proxies.
The list
The list merges four sources: the whitelist, the ops list, the player ban list and the server’s user cache (players who have joined). Each row shows:
- The player’s head and name.
- Badges: Op with its level (for example
Op L4), Whitelist, Banned. - The player’s UUID.
Click Refresh at the top right to load the list again. If nobody has joined and the lists are empty you see “No players on file yet.”
Row actions
Each row has these buttons:
| Button | What it does | Command sent |
|---|---|---|
| Inspect | Opens the player sheet (clicking the name does the same). | none |
| Op / De-op | Gives or removes operator rights. The op level is the server’s default (op-permission-level). To choose a level, use the Access tab. | op / deop |
| Whitelist / Unwhitelist | Adds or removes the player from the whitelist. | whitelist add / whitelist remove |
| Kick | Disconnects the player. A dialog asks for an optional reason. | kick |
| Ban / Pardon | Bans the player (dialog with an optional reason, up to 200 characters) or lifts the ban. | ban / pardon |
These buttons send the command to the running server. If the server is stopped, the action fails with “Server must be running to dispatch this command.” To edit the lists while the server is off, use the Access tab, which edits the files directly.
Player sheet
Click Inspect or a player’s name. A side sheet opens with:
- Header: head, name, full UUID, a Refresh button, the player’s badges (a ban shows its reason) and a full body render of their skin.
- State: Health and Food (out of 20), XP level, Gamemode, and the dimension and coordinates where the player is.
- Inventory: the main inventory (27 slots), hotbar (9), armor (4), offhand and, if it has items, the ender chest. Hover a slot to see the item id and count.
- Stats: Play time, Walked, Deaths, Mob kills, Player kills and Jumps, plus the top 6 blocks mined, mobs killed and items used.
- Advancements: completed advancements with their count, and the ones in progress in grey.
The data is read from the world’s player files, so it is as fresh as the last save.
“The on-disk file isn’t there yet”
Minecraft only writes a player’s file when they log out or when the world saves. If the sheet shows this message for someone who is online, click Force save & retry: the panel runs save-all flush on the server, waits a moment and reads the file again.
Connected players card
The Overview tab of a Minecraft server has a Connected players card that shows who is online right now, refreshed every 15 seconds. Click a player there to open the same sheet. See Minecraft Server Overview.
